IT’S BEEN snowing for hours here in the Beltway, inches of snow already fallen and melted. This is the view outside my office.
But now the flakes are larger and coming down like a blizzard.
It’s beautiful, but then, I love the snow… It’s likely the last of this season.
I’ve updated this post with more photos, all taken along the mighty Potomac in historic Alexandria Virginia. Fort Washington has an interesting history, with Mount Vernon, Washington’s home. Oh, and by the way, a National Library is under construction right now at Mount Vernon.

Fort Washington, across the Potomac River from Virginia.

Mount Vernon, Washington’s home

The trail along George Washington Parkway, in Virginia, which weaves along with Potomac River, where birds galore make their home, including Cardinals, Bald Eagles, Owls, Hawks, Ladderback Woodpecker and many other varieties, Wrens… and so many others.

The mighty Potomac.

One of the most beautiful parts of the vast marshes along the Potomac.

The only way to travel in a snowstorm! My husband’s beloved truck. Thank you Chevrolet!

I love the photo.
March came in here in central TX with 45 mile an hour or more gusts of wind, and some cooler air. Still drought conditions over much of the state, so March winds mean more “red flag” days, with high risk of fires.
Anyway thanks for the photo. Maybe post more, if you can …
It’s just beautiful here…
I’d rather have snow any day over 45 mile winds! I hate gale winds or anything close. When I lived in LA, the Santa Ana winds were horrific to experience, same in Las Vegas when the gusts would attack.
Heya Joyce, enjoy the new photos!
Love trudging around in my hubby’s truck during snowstorms!!
Thanks
Mostly driving rain mixed with ice and a little snow here in suburban Maryland. Very unpleasant- and my carefully planned field trip to Federal Court with my AP Govt class got cancelled, hopefully we can reschedule.
And hopefully this won’t turn to all snow or all ice and we can get back to school tomorrow.
I was expecting snow when I got up this morning and was disappointed…supposed to change over from rain this afternoon though. I love the snow too so long as there are young backs around willing to shovel for bucks.
