Maddow on Antonin Scalia: “He’s a Troll” [Video]

“I think he knows how that sounds, and that’s the neat thing about being there in person, is you can see: Oh, actually, he’s a troll. He’s saying this for affect. He knows it’s offensive. He knows he’s going to get a gasp from the court room, which he got. And he loves it,” Maddow continued. “He’s like the guy on your blog comment thread who is using the N-word…” – Rachel Maddow

NAILED IT.

Maddow was inside the Supreme Court and heard the oral arguments. Her assessment of Justice Scalia’s outrageous claims is priceless.

At the end of the interview Maddow and Stewart also talk about the VAWA.

Totally agree with Maddow here. Scalia IS a Troll. But, a dangerous one that has power over other American citizens’ rights with his votes. He’s been making outrageous comments on the bench for years now and revels in the “audience” reactions as they did when he made that explosive, unreasonable and offensive remark that “renewing the Voting Rights Act is a perpetuation of racial entitlement”.

And, according to this Troll, the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution does not protect against discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation which is “… especially shocking in light of the decades of precedents and the numbers of justices who have agreed that there is protection in the 14th Amendment against sex discrimination, and struck down many, many laws in many, many areas on the basis of that protection.” http://tinyurl.com/2c54n3u (Precedent apparently means squat to Scalia (and his conservative brethren sitting near him) as was also clearly shown in Citizen’s United.

And, his fevered brain spewed this trollish pronouncement:

“If we cannot have moral feelings against homosexuality, can we have it against murder? Can we have it against other things?”

Ah, yes, homosexuality (the same coin as heterosexuality) is on the same moral level as murder.

With each of these personal diatribes, it’s Scalia’s way of saying “F..k you” on the bench to those he considers his personal foes.

I don’t give a rats arse what his moral feelings are about homosexuality or his “feelings” about women or racial minorities which have nothing to do with the law and Supreme Court Judges (no judge) are not entitled to violate the rights of others based upon their feelings.

But, Scalia is nothing if not a Troll.
