PRESIDENT OBAMA has deservedly taken a hit for his policies regarding civil liberties, joining the likes of President George W. Bush, which is a dubious distinction at best.

A majority of voters believe President Obama has been no better than his immediate predecessor, President George W. Bush, when it comes to balancing national security with the protection of civil liberties, according to a new poll for The Hill. Thirty-seven percent of voters argue that Obama has been worse than Bush while 15 percent say he has been “about the same.” [The Hill]

This gets back to what we’ve talked about before: what WH occupant is going to voluntarily give up this, or most any other kind, of power?

The Presidents Club and the people who put our politicians on the path to being in the White House would never allow it.

It’s something a lot of people still don’t get.

The presidency isn’t just about the power of one charismatic and politically adept person and their party. It’s about a conglomeration of corporate and military industrial elements that decide who should run the American Corporation.
