“I want to take a look one more time… I’ll never see this again.” – President Obama, 2013 Inaugural [C-SPAN]

IT WAS a moment you couldn’t miss. I tweeted it as it happened.
A moment when President Obama stopped to take a last look at what he’d never see again. Savoring the Inaugural moment.
I found it quite touching, a personal instant to absorb his own wonder at the presidential privilege he was living for the last time.
Taking a moment for himself, while history swirled around him, to mark it in his mind.
It was one of those private instances where a very public man shared exactly what he was feeling in the moment. It was unmistakable. If you looked quickly, you could share it, too.
Pres. Obama, as he left the ceremonies, took one final look back, taking it in, one last time, then smiled, turned and was gone. #inaug2013

I thought this moment was incredibly touching and insightful into who Barack Obama really is. Words can’t really describe it.
I so agree.
It was a moment where he couldn’t help but reveal himself, because in order to take in these last moments he so wanted to savor he had to stop, and the president doesn’t stop and take an Inaugural moment without having to alert the posse around him.
Really touching.
It’s like he saw the confluence of his past, present, and future in the enormity of the moment. Barack Obama is a man who takes note of things in life. His eyes told the story.
How any human being could look out at that sea of humanity, that rainbow of every ethnic background and every strata of American Society gathered in support and celebration and not be moved to stop for at least a moment…..no matter what our differences…and they are many and deep….we are America.
