Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas has announced that the Palestinian Authority will present its bid for non-state UN membership, despite US and Israeli opposition. So the Israel does not want the USA to even acknowledge the existence of Palesitne and Palestinian people. Israel DOES want the USA to go to war with Iran.
In the U.S., it’s easier for national politicians to risk the lives of our servicemembers and a serious energy disruption than it is to tell the Israel lobby to pound sand. Until that changes, I don’t see the situation getting any better.
