I’ve never understood how Dixville Notch manages to get around New Hampshire’s voting laws; in every other part of the state, voters have 12 hours to cast ballots, but in this small town, they have twenty minutes? I’ve also always wanted to move to Dixville Notch, show up to vote at 8 AM, and threaten a Civil Rights lawsuit If I’m refused a ballot.
This is a cute tradition and all, but there’s no plausible reason why it’s ok for a town to shut it’s polls down after only a few minutes, at midnight.
