Syrian rebels battled forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad just outside Damascus on Thursday, forcing the closure of the main airport road, and the Dubai-based Emirates airline suspended flights to the Syrian capital. Residents also reported Internet connections in the capital were down and mobile and land telephone lines working only sporadically in what appeared to be the worst disruption to communications in Syria since an uprising began 20 months ago.

All of this because the world community could not get up the courage to institute a no fly zone. I said months ago that Assad would kill everyone in the country to protect his scrawny little ass; he seems well on his way to at least getting partially there. A photo in the NYT yesterday showed a picture of a devastated street in Aleppo with dead civilians laying everywhere. At the very least, he will destroy a good part of the country’s infrastructure making it that much harder for the country to recover; if it can.
From the photos, it looks like Afghanistan come to Syria already, fangio.
The “Lebanoniaztion” of Syria is almost complete.
Is this really what we wanted?

Does anyone think these people that are destroying Syria are doing it because they want the sort of “Reform” that would make the lives of Syrians better? Does anyone think the lives of women are going to be better in Syria living under the thumb of extremists?
The real violence, killing, and civil war in Syria is going to begin. I am not belittling the events in Syria over the past year.
Prior to arming terror mobs, what sort of diplomacy was used? I can criticize Obama for his lack of leadership and disastrous strategy in Syria. I know that the GOP and Romney had the same ideas as well.
