First Lady Michelle Obama will also speak tonight.

Team Obama has released the following video of spotlighting San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro’s mentor, his mom. It comes as we await his historic speech tonight.

    For me, this will be the highlight this evening. I have come to respect Michele Obama. She won me over to her side. She’s becoming one of the better First Ladies which is one of the most thankless jobs around and one of the most difficult especially for well-educated women who have had their own successful careers before their husbands ran for POTUS. I don’t know if she truly enjoys the role but she’s carved out an admirable place for her focus on health for everyone but especially kids and veterans and women. She’s also a great speaker, imo, and carries herself with great dignity and elan as well. So ,bring on Michele!

    Tammy Duckworth brought tears to my eyes – what a speech! I have so much respect and admiration for her – a true American shero.

    OMG! Lily Ledbetter and Deval Patrick were great. Didn’t know Deval Patrick had it in him. Both wonderful speeches.

        I thought it was a great first night. Michele Obama’s speech was one of the best speeches I’ve heard and her delivery was powerful, brainy and emotional, from the head and the heart. As was Gov Patrick’s speech. If these two speeches were all we were shown tonight, it was a home run.

        One mistake, the Dems should have had Gov Patrick’s speech before Gov O’Malley’s speech at the 10 pm spot. O’Malley’s speech was a dud. But, Michele Obama’s speech made you forget his miss.
