Romney Responds to Democratic Convention, Debate Prep Working?

**UPDATED**

IF IT’S THE day after the closing of the President’s convention, incoming is the first order of the day.

“If last night was the party, this morning is the hangover. For every net new job created, nearly four Americans gave up looking for work entirely. This is more of the same for middle class families who are suffering through the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression. After 43 straight months of unemployment above 8%, it is clear that President Obama just hasn’t lived up to his promises and his policies haven’t worked. We aren’t better off than they were four years ago. My plan for a stronger middle class will create 12 million new jobs by the end of my first term. America deserves new leadership that will get our economy moving again.” – Mitt Romney

UPDATE: After the above statement was released Mitt Romney stopped to talk briefly with reporters in Iowa, which was broadcast on cable. Debate prep, in which he’s been engaged this week, has paid off. There was none of the awkwardness that has represented Romney in the press. He was sharp, focused and had specific answers, given with a smile on his face. The “happy warrior” image is now the marketing focus. Its was impressive, especially for Mitt Romney.

I hit the Reply to soon.

“My plan for a stronger middle class will create 12 million new jobs by the end of my first term.”

Romney is long on rhetoric and short on specifics. What exactly is his plan and how will it create jobs?

How does he plan to create 12 million new jobs? Are we talking the “hamburger flipping” variety or what? 12 million is a stretch, ya’ think?

    1) 23 million Americans are unemployed or under employed.
    2) A 46% increase in the number Americans on Food Stamps (SNAP) since Obama took office.
    3) A drop of 4.6% in median income since Obama took office.
    4) When Obama took office gas was $1.83/gal. It’s now $3.84/gal.
    5) The National Debt just exceeded $16 trillion.

These are the reasons to vote for Romney listed above. how can anyone think Obama has helped the poor and the middle class?

I really tried to watch the DNC, but fell asleep alot. Last night when I flipped it on there was Scarlett Johanssen and I thought what the hell is this???????? Oh boy, the DNC was all Rah rah shish boom bah, but, no substance, just everybody begging for everybody to give Barry another chance.

Well, I for one do not want 4 more years of this BS.

Quoting statistics under Obama is not answering my question.

You are saying, vote for Mitt because things have been bad under Obama without telling me how Mitt will be any better. Changes just for change’s – sake does not guarantee improvement. It could be the same and it could be WORSE if you don’t make a good change.

I am still waiting for the case for Mitt that is not a regurgitating of statistics under Obama. I want to know that Mitt will be better and how.

      SPECIFICS PLEASE!!!

How will Mitt fix it all?

What kind of jobs with those 12 million jobs be? In what industries? Will they be private or public jobs?

Will those jobs pay a wage that will pay the rent and cover the cost of food?

Or will the 12 million jobs be each person working at least 3 low-wage jobs to make ends meet?

      What is Mitt’s plan????

Mr. Bush did more damage to this country than Obama could ever do. What happened to the surplus that a Democratic president left him? Oh, then there’s a little war called Iraq. I could go on and on. Bush started the hemorrhage. While Obama hasn’t done everything I would have liked him to do, he got stuck with the mess. I will never ever vote for a Romney/Ryan ticket. They have no plans for the 99%. All they’re interested in is protecting the 1%’s money.

You know, I am usually a pretty good driver, but a few winters ago, I hit some unexpected ice and before I knew it, the back end of my car was in a ditch. It only took me an instant to get the car in the ditch. Getting it out, took more than twice as long.

So Bush and the Republicans had 8 years to trash the good economy and surplus Clinton had built, with their unnecessary wars and tax breaks for the wealthy. My guess it that it will take MORE than 8 years to fix their mess, and we aren’t going to fix it by handing it back to the incompetents who destroyed it in the first place….

Republicans versus Democrats in job creation. Here is Bloomberg’s fact check on Bill Clinton’s speech, which comes in as primarily being accurate:

You might be “sick” of the last 4 years of what Obama has or hasn’t done for the poor/middle class. I am sick of the trickle-down, voo-doo, start-a-war-everywhere-in-the-world economics garbage the Republicans have been trying to spoon feed us now for 40 years. And, I am sick of the poor and middle class soldiers giving their sanity, limbs and lives so the greedy bankers and CEOs can fly their butts around in their fancy corporate jets, and dine on yachts and ignore the troops and veterans. That is what I am sick of.
