“Well, obviously another disappointing monthly figure. I know the White House keeps saying that you can’t look at just monthly numbers but if you look over the last several quarters, the last several years you see the continued pattern which is that we’re not creating the jobs we need to create to put Americans back to work. For every net new job created about four people dropped out of the workforce. So we’re going in the wrong direction. This is a very difficult time for the American people and by the way, wages are also not rising. So, no increase in wages, declining wages, actually, declining number of people being able to find work, people dropping out of the workforce. It’s another continuation of very bleak news on the employment front.” – Mitt Romney
FROM THE ROMNEY campaign, the clip above with FNC’s Bret Baier today. Romney will be on Meet the Press on Sunday.

When the GOP talks about unemployment, why don’t the Dems hammer home that the House will not pass any job bills? Wouldn’t that help the Dems win in the House?
It would, I suppose, help with voters who don’t remember the last time the Democrats discussed a jobs bill. It was too small to begin with, and it was on the way to becoming almost nothing when it was shelved. As long as they continue to buy into the “fiscal responsibility” mantra, the Democrats will not do anything effective in this area. There simply isn’t enough wiggle room beyond the $100 billion we’re spending in Afghanistan and Iraq.
