News Desk: Romney Announces Black Leadership Council

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney announced this morning that former Birmingham congressman Artur Davis would be a member of his new Black Leadership Council. [...] The chairs of the national council are U.S. Reps. Tim Scott of South Carolina and Allen West of Florida, and Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. [blogAL.com]

THIS IS a symbolic move coming after the first poll ever to show a Republican candidate for president with 0% support among African Americans.

Republicans and Mitt Romney, specifically, have nowhere to go but up. They just might have to wait until after the Obama era to mobilize around it.

This is how Romney reaches out to people of color in this country? He picks Allen West the biggest hate monger in congress to lead his Black Leadership Council, and then he wonders why he has zero support among blacks. Romney really is clueless when it comes to anyone who isn’t rich and white.
