PRESIDENT OBAMA has been running even on approval/disapproval numbers. In the latest Daily Gallup Tracking Poll taken during the three days of the Democratic National Convention, President Obama’s approval number is up, 52% approval to 43% disapproval.
It also should be noted that in some national polls, which I don’t cite because this is an Electoral College battle at this point, Obama has even been lagging in a couple of snapshot polls.
With the jobs report now out, we’ll see what happens with the approval, but at the close of the Democratic National Convention the Democrats and President Obama should be very pleased with 52%.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, it should be said that the DNC and the entire Democratic establishment absolutely knocked themselves out to support him. There were many true believers among the delegates who provided the energy that all of the speakers could feed off of ….lots and lots of love. Once again he has been given the wind beneath his wings by the Party aided in large part by his wife.
Maybe he should create an “economy guru” position in his cabinet and give it to WJC.
It is going to be very close. I do not feel that either campaign going to self destruct. The only credible “3rd party candidate on the right that I know of is Virgil Goode. On the left there is the Green Party. There is also the Libertarian party and which is sort of a “right wingish / deep left field” and I do not see them earning enough votes to make a difference anywhere either.
This is why I do feel that the Electoral College is such a valuable aspect of our elections. With out it much of the USA would be ignored. Now even 4 electoral votes are so crucial! We have 50 States and having all of them all be part of deciding the who our President is going to be is the correct way to go about it. Even Washington DC gets 3 electoral votes.
