NO MENTION was made of the Air Force sex scandal when the announcement of Col. Deborah Liddick was made for the very unit where the alleged assaults occurred.
From the AP a few days ago:
The Air Force chose a woman Saturday to lead its basic training unit at a Texas base where dozens of female recruits have alleged they were sexually assaulted or harassed by male instructors within the past year.
Col. Deborah Liddick is taking command of the 737th Training Group, bringing a distinctly new face of authority to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Six male instructors have been charged with crimes ranging from rape to adultery, and there are others still under investigation.

A good PR move on the Air Force’s part. Whether it amounts to any needed changes remains to be seen. Col. Liddick was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, if I’m reading between the lines of her bio correctly, so she almost certainly understands the issues.
All the best to Col. Deborah Liddick and the entire USAF! Happy Birthday US Air Force!
Hopefully while she is flushing out the festering sewer of semi approved sexual assault and rape that permeates the training unit she has been assigned to command she can also make some inroads on the militant UBERChristian Chaplins and Officers that have flooded into the Air Force and US Military. They are part and parcel of the mentality that women should be submissive and are property to be “used” by the men.
