Two members of the punk band Pussy Riot have fled Russia to avoid prosecution for a protest against Vladimir Putin that sent three of their band mates to prison, the group said Sunday. [Associated Press]
TWITTER BROKE this story, with one Pussy Riot Twitter account tweeting supporters were “recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new protest actions.”
“In regard to the pursuit, two of our members have successfully fled the country! They are recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new actions!,” a Twitter account called Pussy Riot Group said.
This is a direct slap at Pres. Vladimir Putin and his continued efforts to use the religious hierarchy to cement broader powers across his country.
