Tea Party Candidate Ted Cruz Serves Chick-fil-A at Victory Party

“Ted is not going to D.C. to make nice with the foo-foo, chi-chi cocktail crowd. He’s going to do the heavy lifting to rein in our out-of-control government.” – Palin wows The Woodlands

RICK PERRY’S MAN lost in Texas on Tuesday to a rising Tea Party star Ted Cruz. I’m no expert on Texas, but whatever I read crafts this as a big upset.

Twitter is abuzz.

From the Washington Post:

Former state solicitor general Ted Cruz, a tea party-aligned conservative once regarded as a long-shot candidate, has won the Republican runoff in Texas, where he will be the GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate in the November election. …

[...] Cruz’s win is a remarkable political feat and arguably the Senate upset of the cycle. In early 2011, when Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison announced her intention to retire, observers regarded Dewhurst as a virtual shoo-in to take her place in the upper chamber. Dewhurst is very well-known in Texas, enjoys immense personal wealth, and enlisted the help of Gov. Rick Perry’s top political hands. Perry endorsed Dewhurst during the campaign.

In this race, Dewhurst was the “moderate” Republican, the choice of the GOP establishment. No matter how hard he tried to out-do Cruz in anti-Obama, anti-DC rhetoric, Cruz focused on his “grassroots,” which he and everyone else names: Tea Party.

When you keep stepping further Right, as the GOP does (and the Dems follow), thinking you’re in control, there’s a good chance a Tea Party grassroots (for example) will get ahead of you.

It’s local politics 101, focus on the “grassroots.”

It’s also the same old, same old. You can’t out right a wingnut or a Republican, as Blue Dog Dems try to do as well, which is why they’ve always been on the path to extinction.

Clear choice & a candidate with clear principles AND CAN SPEAK TO THEM IN A WAY THAT IS BELIEVABLE. The all caps is what’s missing in so many of our politicians today.

This reminds me… today is Chick-fil-A Apreciation Day! I hope their peach milkshakes are still available. I do not see what the big deal is anyways. Presidnet Obama had the same exact view of marriage as the President of Chick-fil-A up until last May. What is up with the Mayors of Chicago and Boston telling CHick-fil-A that their personal religious views disqualify them from being welcome in those two cities? If they really felt that way they would go to every other business, and ask the owners what their religiuous beliefs are and let them know whether or not they are welcome. I am appalled by the open discrimination against religion.

I actually agree that the Mayors have no right or legal authority to try to deny hate-fill-a the right to do business because of the owners hatred and bigotry.
That being said I am COMPLETELY in agreement and am participating in the BOYCOTT of this homophobic, UBERChristian bigot’s company and products as is my right as a citizen and consumer to spend my money where ever I chose.
“I am appalled by the open discrimination against religion.”
I am appalled that “religious” folks cloak their bigotry, hatred and repressed homosexual urges in “religious” male bovine fecal matter. Therefore I am completely supporting the boycott.
