ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER gun shooting in America, this time outside the Empire State Building.

New York City police say at least four people have been shot outside the Empire State Building and that the gunman is dead. Federal officials say the shooting isn’t related to terrorism, and a guard at the landmark said it didn’t involve the parts of the building where tourists gather to visit the skyscraper. Police say as many as 10 people were injured, but it is unclear how many of them were hit by bullets…
We are gun owners, with my husband a long-time firearm enthusiast, and even he’s shocked at the number of shootings in the last year. Though I should state what really blew his mind was a tape of hearing Florida’s Gov. Rick Scott encouraging people with concealed carry permits to feel free to lock and load at the Republican convention.
Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor said it was “ridiculous.”
Castor also called it “ridiculous” that protesters with a concealed weapons permit would be allowed to bring a gun into the Event Zone.
It’s really not surprising that it was in Florida where George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed Trayvon Martin.
From what I’m hearing it was work-related. I believe people have the right to own guns but not for this kind of horror and that’s what it was – horror.
