In Honor the the GOP Platform, It’s Back to the ’80s

AKIN: You know, Dr. Willke has just released a statement and part of his letter, I think he just stated it very clearly. He said, of course Akin never used the word legitimate to refer to the rapist, but to false claims like those made in Roe v. Wade and I think that simplifies it….. There isn’t any legitimate rapist…. [I was] making the point that there were people who use false claims, like those that basically created Roe v. Wade. [Think Progress]

THAT LOUD MUSIC you’re hearing is coming from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, McCaskill headquarters. Or maybe it’s reverberating from another McCaskill campaign office, but you can bet there’s partying in Missouri tonight.

As news has floated out all day about the right-wing GOP platform, it seems fitting that since they’re turning the clock back to the 1980s we should too.

Republicans just can’t seem to get a grip that it’s the 21st century, especially where women’s rights are concerned.

1980? are you sure you did not mean 1908 and got dyslexic with those digits? I wandered over to red state and people were egging akin to leave but basically saying that he was right tin what he said??? So I guess currently conservatives admit that nobody likes their ideas and how that Akin has verbalized them he is going to have to quit his senate race while they put the same thing in the GOP platform. Oh, my, what a mess. And did you read that this nut Dr. Willke is an adviser for Romney along with Robert Bork?

My thoughts exactly. 1908 it is. If the Republicans could figure out a way to obliterate Women’s Right to vote I believe they would. This is about more than just Pro Choice. It is about putting men in control of women and keeping it that way. If they take away our right to vote, then they don’t have to worry about that pesky abortion debate and also, there is no such thing as rape, legitimate or otherwise. End of problem.

      Romeny/Paul in ’12…..1912 that is….

heh, and 1912 was also one year before the 16th Amendment was passed into our Constitution which made the income tax a permanent fixture in the U.S. tax system. http://tinyurl.com/5n2z4

Back to the ’80′s indeed. (Warning, mild political incorrectness about Micheal Jackson in the video.)

      That was hilarious!

Back when Michael Jackson was black…

      Haselhoff...

      Ah, the memories.

In life, the music is not only the soundtrack, but the path. I just love attaching songs to points in history, too.

Someone voted these people into office and kept them there. They are the ones you really need to be very afraid of.

Don’t forget that people vote AGAINST things.

What people seem to not figure out is that by voting against a politicians the voter is voting for the policies of the people who could land in their place. This is a significant part of the equation that matters.
