Green Party Two Steps Closer to 40+ State Goal, On the Ballot in PA & NJ

Joyce L. Arnold, Liberally Independent, Queer Talk, equality activist, writer.

Challenging the Duopoly from within the system the Republicans and Democrats think of as theirs alone, from JillStein.org:

The Stein campaign confirmed today that it expects Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala to appear on the presidential ballot in the major Mid Atlantic states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Now on the ballot in 24 states, the campaign is petitioning in every state remaining, and aims to qualify for the ballot in at least 40 states. …

Now the attention of the campaign’s ballot access efforts, under the custody of Associate Campaign Manager Erika Wolf, shifts to the New England states of Connecticut and New Hampshire, the southern states of Virginia and Alabama, and a swatch of western states ranging from Alaska to Kansas and the Dakotas. A dozen such states will require direct financial and volunteer support from the campaign. Other states, like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Rhode Island, among others, are expected to qualify their ballot lines with only regional support.

The Green Party has outdone itself this time around. This accomplishment is significant given the cement-entrenched political machines monopolized by the Democrats and Republicans.

It’s disheartening, however, that even with this huge step, Dr. Jill Stein and her running mate Cheri Honkala still receive hardly a blip from the mainstream press who are busy running after Typhoid Mitt all around the globe like a love-sick puppy unable to get a simple look in their diretion and being abused by his handlers.

 And, that’s for the press.

People who simply refuse to give in and give up, and go along with the Duopoly, are those I great admire.

And I like your response to the press :)

When you get 0.12% of the total vote in the 2008 Presidential election you tend to be ignored as a fringe party. The Green Party in 2008 received 161,000 votes out of 70 million votes cast for President. If anything the Green Party is getting more attention than they deserve.

    Appreciate this news, Joyce.

Was surprised the other day when Ms. Stein retweeted my column re Jennifer Granholm’s “accomplice” mumbo jumbo.

Very cool, that Stein did the RT.

Sadly, it appears that they will not be on the ballot in my state.

Money. Unfortunately, that’s a big part of why the Green Party won’t be on even more ballots. I hope you can do a write-in, if that’s an option you’d like :)
