MASSACHUSETTS IS a “Democratic state,” said Charlie Cook on “Morning Joe.” Yes, it will be close all the way to the end, but Chuck Todd agreed. We all may wake up to an 8-point win by Elizabeth Warren, because it’s a state that traditionally votes Democratic and it’s a presidential election year.

The reason Scott Brown is in the Senate in the first place is that a lot of “Obama voters” didn’t show up in the special election. Those who didn’t were overwhelmingly disappointed in the way the Democrats were handling the economy and health care, according to this poll. Whatever the outcome this year, it will hinge on persuading those same voters that it actually matters that the cast their vote.
Brown’s problem is that Jill Stein voters will also cast ballots for Warren. He was probably doomed anyway, with Obama winning Massachusetts by 20-25 points. My guess is that the GOP gets this by late September, gives Brown up as lost, and focuses it’s money on Montana and Missouri. And in preparing a nice package of goodies to convince Manchin to jump five minutes after the votes are counted.
Wish I could vote for her in this election and hope I get the chance to vote for her in a future one. Hopefully running against Palin or Bachmann!!
