WE ALL REMEMBER Dan Ackroyd’s Julia Child skit. There’s even a Google doodle in her honor today.

Meryl Streep as Child was a marvel…
I’m a big fan of Food TV, shows like “The Best Thing I Ever Ate” are great fun. All of these shows are now being interrupted by negative political ads, but since I DVR my faves flipping through them is easy.
Julia Child changed cooking for American women.
As someone who has a passion for cooking, recipes that I convert to what we eat, meaning healthy, as well as learning about restaurants to visit around the country, television programs about food, cooking and entertaining provide relaxation and a point of adventure.
Julia Child’s shows led the way. Beef stew with red wine is one of my husband’s favorites. To Julia Child it’s called Boeuf Bourguignon, which began her French cooking series.
We owe so much to Julia Child. Tonight let’s all raise a glass of wine in her honor or cook or eat something wonderful to celebrate her life.

Here’s to Julia!!!! I, too, love cooking!
What will I make for dinner tonight? sauteed mushrooms in white wine with a glass of Champagne! Yumm.
That sounds wonderful.
Happy Birthday, Julia.
I also love to cook and to watch the food channel.
I caught one of her programs with her French-American cook mate, Jacques Pepin and hey were making various beef dishes in Julia’s home in Cali. I love how they went from the elegant chateaubriand to the very American and fun hamburgher. And, they relished them all without any pretention.
