WHAT HAVE WOMEN gained in Afghanistan after American money and the blood of soldiers have been dumped into that country for 10 years? Why are we continuing our financial commitment continuing until 2024?
The Taliban are not going to change and neither is the culture. “In order to save face,” the murdering Afghan fundamentalists accused the woman of adultery, then slaughtered her.

A shot rings out, but the burqa-clad woman sitting on the rocky ground does not respond.
The man pointing a rifle at her from a few feet away lets loose another round, but still there is no reaction.
He fires a third shot, and finally the woman slumps backwards.
But the man fires another shot.
And another. And another.
Nine shots in all.
Around him, dozens of men on a hillside cheer: “God is great!”
Officials in Afghanistan, where the amateur video was filmed, believe the woman was executed because two Taliban commanders had a dispute over her, according to the governor of the province where the killing took place.
Both apparently had some kind of relationship with the woman, said Parwan province governor Abdul Basir Salangi.
“In order to save face,” they accused her of adultery, Salangi said.
The difference today in Afghanistan is that the world now knows what the Taliban is doing. Condemnation and global outrage can come down on the Afghan government, deemed to be the 4th most corrupt in the world.
Whether the “transparency” and knowing what’s going on is enough is worth the price, when women continue to be slaughtered because religious conservatives have a beef with them, is up to you to decide.
The money we’re paying to aid Afghanistan is money that could be used to “fix” entitlements here, except Congress is too busy propping up their respective presidential candidates instead of putting the economic priorities of this country above everything else.
The fearmongering that Afghanistan will fall back to what it once was is a canard, because Al Qaeda has now been decimated.
Our leaders have no sense of priorities. The men running on the Democratic and Republican ticket haven’t the depth of character to pull America away from our continued role in nation building, which we no longer can afford when our vital national security interests aren’t involved.
Radical Islam – the religion that hates women.
Agreed that “radical Islam” inspires “hate” against women. Absolutely.
ALL fundamentalist, patriarchal religions that refuse women leadership roles in the church, including those practiced in America and other western countries, keep women down, even if our organized religions are nowhere near as brutal as radical Islam.
