Mitt Romney’s campaign has quietly begun airing a TV ad in six states that uses an old clip of Hillary Clinton to blast President Barack Obama. – Politico
TEAM ROMNEY won’t let go of the fact that the Washington Post won’t retract their article on outsourcing and Romney’s Bain record. An excerpt:
Mitt Romney’s financial company, Bain Capital, invested in a series of firms that specialized in relocating jobs done by American workers to new facilities in low-wage countries like China and India.
During the nearly 15 years that Romney was actively involved in running Bain, a private equity firm that he founded, it owned companies that were pioneers in the practice of shipping work from the United States to overseas call centers and factories making computer components, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
On June 27, Romney reps met with executive editor of the Post Marcus Brauchli who refused the request for retraction, with the Romney campaign distributing a rebuttal of the piece.
The ad above is the Romney campaign’s response to the Post report, but also to Obama ads slamming him on outsourcing. It’s to air in Ohio, Iowa, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Nevada.
As to Obama campaign “falsehoods,” the book I wrote on the history of Hillary Clinton’s rise and the ’08 campaign includes a chapter focusing on the Obama campaign’s tactics, which was in stark contrast to the marketing of candidate Obama back in ’08 as a “different kind of politics.” The chapter was mainly in response to David Plouffe’s whitewash of the campaign, because the primary race he depicts in parts of his book are devoid of what their campaign engaged in continually. In “Eating Your Own” I unpack with proof that the Obama campaign back in ’08 did indeed distribute falsehoods, but that wasn’t the beef. It’s that they were pretending they weren’t and so was the media!
Barack Obama and his team fought as dirty as anyone ever has back in ’08, and by running this ad Mitt Romney proves he can hit below the belt too.
We’re all shocked. Alert the media.

Wow, that has GOT to be one of the lamest presidential campign adds I’ve ever seen. Hope he spends MILLIONS on it.
Actually I might be the only one here who thinks so but I actually think it is an effective ad.
There’s little doubt they tested it, so somebody was affected by it, meaning you’re likely not alone.
Beyond the Bain attack, which evidently spurred the ad, Fox & the right are hitting Obama hard on what he said about the mandate as a candidate. They’re saying he “lied” when talking to ABC’s G. Steph.
They might be working on a theme here.
I have noticed this theme from conservatives. Honestly, the minute the “message” gets sent out, they put it up on facebook. I challenged one today with is the GOP going to admit that Romney had the “largest tax increase in MA history”. They had no answer for that. I wonder sometimes if there isn’t a “stupid” gene that makes people attracted to conservatism.
Well he did say it was NOT a tax. But, now it is. And that doesn’t sit well with a lot of people, obviously (including me.) So did he just intentionally mislead us, then, or what?
It is the same as it always was. Having it considered AS A TAX is not the same thing as being a tax. Do you think when you pay your insurance premium you are paying a tax?
More importantly. you are still on the hook for the same amount of money, whatever that works out to in your case. To me, it doesn’t matter whether they call it a tax or a mandate, I still either have to buy insurance that won’t be regulated and I won’t be able to afford to use, or I have to pay part of my income to the government.
Thanks for nothing, Democrats, Republicans, and SCOTUS.
Well the Bain adds did and continue…and as MORE comes out about mitten’s little bottom feeder conglomerate WILL continue to hamstring mittens as polls in battleground states show. I say keep hammering him and throw in some about his rank hypocrisy regarding Obamacare and mittenscare.
You would!
What struck me was how much better she looked back then. I guess how she looks now is. the result of being under Obama’s thumb for a full term. The horror!
Yep! President Obama invented aging and infected Hillary Clinton with it! Wow!
The smaller the difference between candidates, the uglier the race becomes. This is going to be a really ugly campaign. Citizens United didn’t cause the ugliness we’ll be seeing, it’s just ensuring we’ll see a lot more of it.
“No. That’s not true, George. The—for us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore.”
Hey, I’d be willing to give him a pass on the first sentence if only he didn’t follow it up with an even more outrageous lie.
This kind of nonsense gets conservatives nowhere because to justify it they are trying to say that the bill was changed. The bill was NOT changed. All this stuff is just an effort to “buck up the troops” after a big loss for the GOP.
Every time I remember Obama supporters piously going on and on about their “new kind” of candidate while acting all horrified when the Clinton campaign played hardball, I still see red. Some of those same folks now feel punked “he’s a disappointment,” they whine. I only have contempt for them. Now Obama has to sleep in the bed he, Plouffe and Axelr
Arrgh, that one got away. The bed he, Plouffe and Axelrod made. That also applies to the individual mandate which he clobbered Hillary with over and over. Then he stupidly claims “it’s not a tax” when the design all along was to make a tax to make it pass muster if the commerce clause didn’t work. Verrilli called it a tax over and over until one of the justices asked him about it. News flash: if you make statements in any kind of campaign, know that someone’s got the audio and probably the video. Sheesh!
I think thats a affective ad. This is not going to be 2008, Romney seems like the type that stops at nothing to win, look how many times he ran for President. President Obama is still a frontrunner to win, but if he does win, he will be brused and battered.
I am not sure where to post this, so I will ask it here.
Can anyone confirm or fact check this video? It was posted at a pro-Romney site, or rather I should say an anti-Obama site. Actually where it was posted is a moot point.
What is important to me is whether or not it is totally true, partially true, or just something a Super-Pac pulled out of its A$$:

Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you!
The “a different kind of candidate” message from Obama ’08 was just another campaign ploy that is par for the course in Presidential elections. This ad from the Romney Campaign neither shocks nor moves me. Both campaigns are political liars and opportunists. ‘Nuff said on that.
Regarding this “mandate is now a tax stuff”….. blah….. Taxes aren’t going anywhere. It’s how tax money is used is what I look at. I’m sorry fellow commenters. I have zero outrage at the Mr. ObamaRonmey McDemoRepub. I’m just an observer because these two gentlemen are just…. blah. I’m save my energy for volunteer work and local politics. LOL
