Joe Lieberman’s Revenge

Sen. Joe Lieberman says there should be a special counsel to look into allegations that the administration has leaked information on a U.S.-Israeli cyber-warfare campaign against Iran’s nuclear program and other classified activities. [...] Lieberman said a special counsel would avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. – Washington Post

A PARTING SHOT at the political party and people who banished Sen. Lieberman to irrelevancy, except to people like Sean Hannity.

On another Democratic diss front, Sen. Joe Manchin, Rep. Nick Rahall, and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, all from West Virginia, are skipping the Democratic convention. You’d think these guys would absolutely love North Carolina. It’s homophobic, a right-to-work state, and also isn’t crazy about women’s freedoms. Oh, but they have their reasons.

The president remains very unpopular in West Virginia, where a dominant coal industry has objected to his environmental regulatory policies. Despite a sweeping victory in 2008, Obama still lost the state by 13 percentage points. In the West Virginia Democratic primary earlier this spring, a Texas federal inmate managed to earn more than 40 percent against the president. – The Hill

      Amen.

If I ran the Dem Party I’d freeze Manchin out of money.

I’m waiting for the “Manchin Switches Party” headline.

It will come in December, after Manchin wins re-election on the back of DSCC money. Watch as Manchin’s switch gives the GOP control of the Senate, and he becomes as reliable a Republican vote as Dick Shelby for twenty years.
