Out of the mouth of Mitt Romney’s best weapon, his wife Ann said a mouthful on Monday. From ABC News:
Ann Romney defended her husband’s sense of humor today during a radio interview, explaining that if people think the candidate seems too stiff at times as the host suggested, she thinks “we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out.”
Politico’s Lois Romano has a piece up today capitalizing on the rising power and influence of Ann Romney, the headline reading “Ann Romney is the Romney Democrats Fear Most.”
I’ve been writing about Mrs. Romney strengths for a while now. It will be interesting to see if Ann Romney, and First Lady Michelle Obama, become draws or even hotter tickets than their husbands.
It wouldn’t take much, but people don’t vote for spouses.
That’s why the Politico headline is more for web grazers and page hits than it is analysis.
There was a time Democrats would have been right to fear a Mitt Romney presidential nomination. However, the embarrassing GOP circus primary, coupled with the Republican war on women, have Mitt “Etch A Sketch” Romney looking at an all uphill battle.
The presidency isn’t impossible for Romney, but it will take more than Ann Romney’s role to bring women to his side.
As a side note, Romney also had to field questions about his Mormonism.
Today all eyes are on the primaries, with Mitt Romney expected to have a big day.

” Unzip him and let the real Romney out. ” WOW! That sounds really interesting. Now if only I could ignore the haunting, aroused imagery.
Hah-thats what I thought! Unip him? No thanks.
unzip him I meant
The woman to fear is Guv Susanna Martinez of NM. Most popular guv in USA and a latina. I think Mitt might pick her- helping him with latinos and women perhaps. Then again here in Tx repubs with latino surnames have been pushe dout of office by their own so hmm

They said the same thing during/after the 2008 Democratic primary. It wasn’t true then, and it’s not true now.
