Is Mitt Romney trying to throw this race? He couldn’t have picked anyone who better represents Hispanic rejection of all things Republican, former Gov. Pete Wilson.
“Romney can’t seem to stop himself from digging deeper and deeper into his hole with Latino voters,” said Eliseo Medina of the Service Employees International Union in a statement. “Here is what Pete Wilson accomplished: He turned Latino voters against the GOP brand.” – LA Times
No wonder religious conservative Erick Erickson has thrown all caution to the ether and endorsed the “sweet meteor of death” over any of the current candidates.

The poor and the very poor are not the only ones Mitt doesn’t care about.
Oh, THAT Pete Wilson; Yikes.
Pete Wilson is almost solely responsible in turning California in to a deep blue redoubt. I’m amazed that the Elephants keep doubling down on Know-Nothingism. Long term this anti-immigrant freak-out by Republican guarantees a long, slow, painful decline into political irrelevancy.
Republicans keep whistling past the grave yard with the notion that they can capture with their social conservative message; but no one is going to listen to that message when you pal around with jackasses like Pete Wilson.
Karl Rove must be pulling what little hair he has out from his head. All the work the Boy Genius and his shrub did to appeal to the Hispanic vote is being undone by the toxic idiocy of the TEA Party Primaries and the dog-whistle politics it engenders. In a possible low turn out general ,Romney just gifted the opposition with a GOTV rallying cry; good job Willard! Way to energize a critical part of your opposition’s base Magic Underwear Man.
