STOP SENATOR STEVENS What does this guy know about the Internet?

Today is do or die for our Save
the Internet campaign, which has been led by Matt
Stoller and others. Stoller reports that Stevens doesn't have the votes.
That's good news. Here's how people would be effected if Senator bridge
to nowhere Stevens gets his way.

Bobbyg is a reader of FDL, who stops by here occasionally. I met him recently
at the FDL Plame
panel at YearlyKos. He works with a band called Santa
Fe and the Fat City Horns. Bobbyg's blog gives all the news of the band,
with pictures and details of the shows. It's a very big deal to his friends
and the fans. If Net Neutrality isn't preserved, bobbyg's blog will load slower
and be less effective, reach fewer people, which impacts everyone who loves the band.

Of course, the big sites and blogs will churn right along, especially the right-wing
screed machines, because many of them are well funded, unlike progressive blogs,
which depend on advertising that is sporadic for most, as well as blog fundraising
we all do.

Please take the time to give these senators a call, if any of them represent you.
Just ask your senator to vote in committee to support the Snowe-Dorgan
Net Neutrality amendment to the larger Telecom Act (S. 2686).
