Dow Plummets

Dow Plummets

Wall Street tumbled Friday, with the Dow
Jones industrial posting a triple-digit loss and dipping into negative ground
for the year, as investors were spooked by lackluster earnings from General
Electric Co. and Citigroup Co. — both Dow Jones industrials — and
surging energy prices. … The Dow Jones industrial average was lately down
171.29 points, or 1.57 percent, giving up all of the 325 points it had gained
so far this year. The broader Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index sank
19.43 points, or 1.51 percent, while the technology-rich Nasdaq Composite index
tumbled 46.30 points, or 2.01 percent. Bonds continued falling, with the yield
on the 10-year Treasury note rising to 4.38 percent from 4.37 percent late Thursday.
The dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading.
Dow
gives back gains for year as stocks tumble

The down fell 194+ 213.32 points today. The above story speaks for itself.
