“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement to TheWrap on Tuesday. [The Wrap]
ABC AND DISNEY canned Roseanne Barr and cancelled her ABC show less than 12 hours after she sent a racist tweet at 2:45 a.m. EST.
Producer of the show Wanda Sykes quit the show before it was canceled. ICM Partners, Ms. Barr’s talent representative, fired her.
And if losing “Roseanne” wasn’t bad news enough for Trump World.
Rep. Trey Gowdy delivered a rapid right cross.
“I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” Gowdy said during an interview on Fox News. [The Daily Beast]
Republicans today can only talk truth to power as they prepare to walk out the door.
"A show that Pres Trump once described as a show that was "about us" — his voters, the men & women he refers to in tweets & speeches as the forgotten men and women …was cancelled today after its star, Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet …" – @NicolleDWallace pic.twitter.com/c556GNUbsn
