President Trump boasted about highly classified intelligence in a meeting with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador last week, providing details that could expose the source of the information and the manner in which it was collected, a current and a former American government official said Monday. NO ONE is surprised, right?
The Washington Post was the first to report that Trump cannot be trusted with US secrets. There’s no remedy yet for this dilemma, but things remain unsustainable.
The sight of H.R. McMaster spinning for President Trump was alarming to see. McMaster saying Trump didn’t reveal “sources and methods,” while vouching for his boss. It signals that Trump crazy has spread to one member of the national security team, General McMaster. He can’t possibly think people believe his bullshit.
It’s discomforting that the President treats code-name level intelligence as a salve to stroke his own ego. Proving to his audience, the Russian foreign minister and ambassador, just how much he knew by telling them secrets that weren’t ours to share with anyone, especially the Russians.
Donald Trump thinks he’s in a movie.
He’s cratered U.S. credibility.
Would you share sensitive intelligence with the erratic man currently in the White House?
He’s going to get people killed.
This is the event that trips the wire for a few more Republicans.
Two US officials who were briefed on Trump’s disclosures last week confirmed to BuzzFeed News the veracity of the Washington Post report, with one noting that “it’s far worse than what has already been reported.” The official was referring to the extent of the classified intelligence information Trump disclosed to the Russian ambassador and foreign minister. HR McMaster is sadly now added to the list of people who have humiliated themselves on national television to try to provide cover for Trump

UPDATE: The New York Times is reporting that the source of code-name level secret intel was Israel.
