OUR NEW First Lady Melania Trump borrowed a page out of Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy‘s playbook for the swearing-in ceremony.

Nothing says glamour like stiletto heels and long gloves, especially when they’re the same sky-blue as your ensemble. Wearing Ralph Lauren, Melania Trump was a vision. Her hair swept up elegantly, she slew her debut. As in killed it.

But she wasn’t finished.

Inaugural Balls are tricky things for ordinary women. But when you have the grace and poise of Melania Trump, topped off by impeccable taste, how can you lose?

Mrs. Trump chose to give the former head designer from Carolina Herrera his American debut. Her white gown is by Hervé Pierre, his first under his own name, something First Lady Michelle Obama did with designers as well. He is French and has lived in the United States for 20 years.

The choice of American designers will thrill the New York fashion world.

White is notoriously difficult to wear as a long gown, but first ladies love it. The styling of Melania’s gown helps the fabric glide off of her figure. The gown itself was understated and ultra modern, with a ruffle giving a 3-D effect, with a slight belt at the waist.

During the day, both former Secretary Hillary Clinton and Ivanka Trump wore white.

Ivanka’s Oscar de la Renta pantsuit featured an assymetrical flowing jacket. For evening Ivanka was in a golden princess dress that glittered.

Kellyanne Conway blew up social media with her red, white and blue Revolutionary War Gucci coat.

Oh, and in case you didn’t see former President George W. Bush‘s battle with his rain gear. Click the link, it’s hilarious and the internet thought so, too.
