“We were going to put the four women in the VIP box,” said former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, who represents Trump in debate negotiations. “We had it all set. We wanted to have them shake hands with Bill, to see if Bill would shake hands with them.” [Washington Post]
HILLARY CLINTON let Donald Trump off the mat.
There was no question who knew what last night but that’s not what the debate was about.
Cornered, cratering, and crazed, Donald produced Sunday night’s spectacle from top to bottom.
Secretary Clinton showed up ready to present herself as knowledgeable and presidential. She also clearly was not prepared for Trump unleashed.
Respectable people wouldn’t have the stones to throw your worst memories at you on a stage and make you relive a time that almost cost you your marriage and the Democratic Party their power.
Clinton, seemingly shocked, couldn’t return volley. Who could blame her? She’s running for president.
Donald Trump is running to make people pay.
The debate won’t win the presidency for him, nor will it convince the voters he needs to get above 42%.
However, he gave the Republican base what they’ve wanted since the GOP lost to Bill Clinton in 1998.
William Jefferson Clinton made unspeakably bad choices when he was president, exposing a character flaw that preceded his 1992 victory.
Last night, Hillary paid the price.
Donald Trump’s candidacy is no longer in peril. Yes, he will lose, but it’s not about winning for him anymore.
Team Clinton has a decision to make.
“They go low, we go high,” won’t cut it, in my opinion.
Hillary Clinton and her allies need to game up. Not because she’s going to lose, but because Donald has brought the argument down to his level where he excels.
The Clintons know how to play just as dirty.
Political winter has come.
