Washington, D.C. Decriminalizes Weed

Washington, D.C. moves to decriminalize weed.

Washington, D.C. moves to decriminalize weed.

IT’S NOT the same as being in Colorado or Washington state, but the nation’s capital has joined the debate and the move to make marijuana a legal and regulated substance.

Under the bill, D.C. would not go as far as Colorado and Washington state, where voters have legalized the sale and use of marijuana. Instead, the measure would put the District at the forefront of 17 states that have taken the partial measure to decriminalized marijuana, eliminating jail time for most offenses in favor of civil fines. I remember there was a short period of time when MDMA or “ecstasy” was not illegal in D.C. because of a misspelling in the law.

Just because it is legal, it does not mean it is a good thing to do.

    Oh, sweet Jane!

There is massive amounts of evidence that weed doesn’t do harm, with its medicinal properties proven years ago.

So-called conservatives don’t know the meaning of the word. It sure as hell doesn’t mean treating adults like children!

I did not say it is harmful, I am just saying it is not necessarily a good thing either. It is harmful if you are too young.

I never had a problem with a person smoking weed, ever. Drunks on the other hand…

The opponents of weed legalization do not ever use medical claims or anything legit to back up their claims. They show a picture of John Belushi or someone else who OD’d on heroin and say this is what pot does to you.

Good grief, mjsmith, policing the world on behalf of the young when it comes at the expense of adults is tyrannical.

Today’s conservatives are not conservative at all.
