“The compelling argument is on the side of homosexuals,” he said. “That’s where the compelling argument is: “˜We are Americans. We just want to be treated like everybody else.’ That’s a compelling argument. And to deny that you’ve got to have a very strong argument on the other side.” … “And the other side hasn’t been able to anything but thump the Bible,” he concluded. [Mediaite]
THE “thump the bible” kerfuffle between O’Reilly and Ingraham exploded on Fox News channel last night.
Now O’Reilly is in a battle between Rush Limbaugh, who went after O’Reilly, and Laura Ingraham.
Mediaite taped the Rush Limbaugh attack on O’Reilly, which is below. That Rush is trying to act like a practicing Christian is hilarious. Does anyone believe he chooses church over the golf course on Sunday?
O’Reilly, however, got the ultimate approval, which came from Charles Krauthammer defending him.
Krauthammer explained that he respects the beliefs of anyone who says they oppose gay marriage because of their Biblical beliefs, but in the policy sphere, he said that’s simply not enough. He argued that if they want to expand their base and make a compelling case to people, “you have to go outside the narrow bounds of your own religion.” [Mediaite]
