THE MAN rumored to have been the Svengali of Tamerlan Tsarnaev was interviewed by Christian Caryl recently. There doesn’t seem to be any suspicion surrounding the man called Misha at this point, though Tamerlan’s uncle, Ruslan Tsarni, alleged he was the corruptor of Suspect 1.
Associated Press is also reporting that authorities, speaking on condition of anonymity, have found no evidence that Misha was tied to the Boston terrorist attack.
U.S. officials say investigators have found no evidence that a conservative Muslim friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev had any connection to the Boston Marathon bombing.
Why Ruslan Tsarni made the allegation in the first place isn’t known. His own fears could have driven him.
Allakhverdov said he had known Tamerlan in Boston, where he lived until about three years ago, and has not had any contact with him since. He declined to describe the nature of his acquaintance with Tamerlan or the Tsarnaev family, but said he had never met the family members who are now accusing him of radicalizing Tamerlan.
