Rush Limbaugh Actually Believes Marriage Equality is a Word Game

wonderwoman

“This issue is lost. I don’t care what the Supreme Court does, this is now inevitable — and it’s inevitable because we lost the language on this. …” – Rush Limbaugh

TODAY’S so-called conservatives are completely clueless about the ideology they trumpet. However, Rush Limbaugh is so pitifully ignorant about it he actually believes that marriage equality, gay marriage, was lost by the right because they’re bad at political Scrabble.

This is how fundamentally they misunderstand the very foundation of this country, which is what they parrot all the time, but never defend. It begins with one simple, but powerful, word.

Freedom.

That word is backed up by another.

Equality.

Both are supported by every document our founders ever wrote.

Extremist Republicans and so-called conservatives today didn’t inevitably lose the marriage equality battle because of a political word game.

The extremist American right lost the marriage equality debate, because it comes down to the basic freedoms of people in this country to be treated equally under the law, without exception.

These people are so fundamentally lost it’s truly incredible to watch what’s playing out right now. They are fumbling through historic times without a sense of what’s actually happening.

As we get further into the 21st century, generations will look back on people standing against history’s turn and wonder how people like Rush Limbaugh and others of his ilk ever held sway.

Technology has made right-wing radio a communication dinosaur, something I’ve been waiting to see happen for a very long time.

Times are changing. Adapt or die off.

Conservatives need new leaders very badly and this week just how badly was on full display.

Democrats came out one by one, evolving on marriage equality, which may not seem like much, but compared to Republicans they looked like oracles.

Republicans are content to living in their Fox News bubble…they refuse to face the future. Because if they did it would involve accepting the hard truth their ancient ideology must change with the times. When your a party base is made up of cowards, racist and religious nut jobs their is not much hope for progress.

But still I hold out a tiny bit of hope, that one day Republicans will get their act together and return back to the center. Plus, they are making the Democrats look like a better alternative in comparison to all the crazy house republicans antics.

The Republicans will only tack the center Marie205 when all other options are exhausted.

Besides I’m with Taylor here, the “Center” is meaningless. Quite often there is only one side of an issue, the side that is true, facts based, liberationist, and fair. Those who try to tell you that “the truth is somewhere in the middle” are often clueless and even more often utterly amoral.

I have no use, nor any love for a “Center” that allows people to be food insecure, that cribs a woman’s right to choose, that allows the harassment of LGBTs, is ok with Rape, finds happiness in a warm gun, allows corrupt, crony capitalist to run amok, and is OK with letting people die in ER (or worse on the street) because they are poor. That is not a center, that is evil hiding behind a mask of moderation.

        Good observation spincitysd

I’m not enamored with “the center” like so many others.

Principle is what I prefer, which begins with every individual deserves freedom and equality, without government intrusion into our personal lives or decisions.

I’ve always thought “the center” is a cop out for not knowing what you stand for.

Perhaps, I shouldn’t have used the word center…but “sanity” in the case of Republicans…LOL

“I’ve always thought “the center” is a cop out for not knowing what you stand for.”
Indeed…Ms. marsh I lovez ya…ya KNOWZ I duz. And statements…or observations like this(and with just a TINY bit of help from that Superwoman outfit graphic)
That and observations right on the money like “Technology has made right-wing radio a communication dinosaur, something I’ve been waiting to see happen for a very long time. ”
Nothing sexier then big frontal lobes…NOTHING!
The country and it’s people have had to endure possibly with the actual bloodbath of the treasonous war launched by the slave holding “Confederacy” the most surreal, hate driven political times in our nation’s history.
And AGAIN over social issues and rights where the “conSERvatives” have come down on the WRONG side.
I can only hope the electorate doesn’t fall back into that comfortable “everything’s OK now” mind set and not come out to vote in 14. Until the gibbering crazies polluting the People’s House are thrown out we will have to endure more and more of the wasteful, ridiculous inanity, hundreds of bills trying to deny women their constitutional rights for example or more screeching of BENGHAZI-IMPEACHMENT-BENGHAZI.

yeah… the House is a problem.

But with retirements, Dems keeping the Senate in 2014 is a battle.

It is, in sum, a tough landscape for Democrats that just got a little tougher.

The territory they’re defending has much more rural influence than urban; seats in places like Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Carolina, South Dakota and West Virginia, all of which Mitt Romney carried. Conversely, none of the Republican seats up, with the exception of Maine, are in states carried by President Obama. And Democrats overall are defending more seats next year (21) than Republicans (14) just as they did in 2012.

“just as they did in 2012.”
Let’s all hope they DO just as they did in 2012….or even BETTER!
