The Daily Beast reports, in an exclusive report, that there may soon be some phased-in changes in the Obama administration’s use of drones.

At a time when controversy over the Obama administration’s drone program seems to be cresting, the CIA is close to taking a major step toward getting out of the targeted killing business. Three senior U.S. officials tell The Daily Beast that the White House is poised to sign off on a plan to shift the CIA’s lethal targeting program to the Defense Department.

The move could potentially toughen the criteria for drone strikes, strengthen the program’s accountability, and increase transparency.

“Institutionalization” is the word used by the WH for the process of coming up with clear guidelines for the lethal use of drones.

From what I’m reading, it doesn’t seem that anyone expects the use of weaponized drones and kill lists to change, just who guides the drones to their targets.

So, should the Pentagon take over from the CIA, do you feel, about the drone-as-weapon program: 1) Better; 2) Worse; 3) No change; 4) Other (feel free to explain “other”)?
