Wayne LaPierre, Before Universal and “Mandatory, Instant Criminal Background Checks” Before He Was Against Them

“You really think that the president’s children are the same kind of target as every other school child in America?” “That’s ridiculous and you know it, sir.” – Chris Wallace, Fox News Sunday

THE N.R.A. has never looked worse than when Chris Wallace, the last person you’d expect to take on LaPierre, revealed the sniveling opportunist for exactly who he is. But stronger gun safety measures are coming, including those LaPierre once supported himself.

LaPierre took a second blow on Super Bowl Sunday in what came later in an ad shown during the game itself, sponsored by Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The ad below was shown in the Washington, D.C. area where I live. It quotes Wayne LaPierre who was for universal background checks before he was against them.

“We think it’s reasonable to provide mandatory, instant criminal background checks for every sale at every gun show. No loopholes anywhere for anyone.”Wayne LaPierre, 1999

All the sane folks need do to get real gun control passed is make sure LaPierre and his ilk get lots of air time. They are so CLEARLY nuts it will be a slam dunk if folks deluge their congress people and demand action…and if they don’t get it 2014 is right around the corner.

Holy Guacamole, when you get a beat-down by Chris Wallace of Faux News, a supposed “friendly”, you are beyond toxic. I think Wayne LaPierre is about to be sacrificed to the angry pagan Gods of politics. Stay away from Maunaloa if you know what’s good for you Mr. LaPierre.
