“Skeet Birthers,” The Latest Obama Derangement

Obama_skeetshooting

YOU KNEW it was going to hit the minute the Obama skeet shooting photo was released.

The attacks also ignore that the official White House photographer Pete Souza had to also be involved.

One comment from “sasasa” cited “poor shooting form,” with fblanco joining in on the Obama derangement.

But nothing encapsulates the skeet birther Obama derangement today like “American Thinker,” which has to be in quotes after the latest rant on Obama’s “photoshop” skeet shooting.

Second, it is evident that the President has never shot a shotgun before as his stance is leaning slightly backward. – “American Thinker”

My husband guffawed out loud. “Yeah, he just touched it off. This is a 12-guage!” It’s a ported, over-under 12-gauge. “Very nice,” was Mark’s comment.

It gets better.

Smoke going straight out the barrel is normal, but what the heck is that second smoke stream shooting behind and away from the barrel? Perhaps some sort of release value to diminish the recoil from the shot but I’ve never seen that on a range. – “American Thinker”

magnaport

Whoever the guy is over at “American Thinker” is either an idiot or a liar, maybe both.

Mag-na-port International does shotgun porting. It’s been around for decades. He didn’t bother to Google it before expounding on “7 reasons why it’s photoshop,” with most of the reasons laugh out loud hilarious, at least Mark and I had a good chuckle over them.

The spray coming out the top, as Mark explained it, on which “American Thinker” was absolutely clueless, is because it’s “ported,” with some of the energy going up, making the gun not kick so much. Just about any weapon can be ported.

At least President Obama didn’t shoot any of his friends in the face.

“American Thinker” bringing up Dick Cheney and giving him any quarter for shooting his friend in the heart proves he has no credibility. Cheney was likely drunk and just might have lied about how close he was to his friend.

But wait! Skeet birther “American Thinker” has more.

Fourth, either skeet or trap shooters wear either a shell bag or a vest or both. Apparently, the president is too tough for that. Fifth, most shooters wear baseball style caps. – “American Thinker”

A vest and a baseball cap are reasons it’s photoshopped?

Thank the shooting gods Dick Cheney was wearing a vest and a cap while mistaking his friend for a quail.

These skeet birthers are just too entertaining.

    Skeet-Birther. Love it!

But the best lines go to:

“At least President Obama didn’t shoot any of his friends in the face.”

    And my personal favorite:

“Thank the shooting gods Dick Cheney was wearing a vest and a cap while mistaking his friend for a quail.”

    LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

And of course the photoshop included the correct safety gear of shooting glasses and aural protection. (Those ear-muffs are lovingly referred to as “Mickey Mouse Ears in the USN)

Sidebar: goodness, I wish the USN ported the shotguns we were issued, those things kicked like mules.

Oh, and how the hell are you suposed to follow the skeet with a ballcap obstructing your field vision? And why is the skeet range set up in way for the sun to be in your eyes in the first place? So many face-palms, so little time.

Those lines are too funny. lol

The Cheney Man-Quail incident a few years back was ripe for satire and few comedians could resist. Here was one memorable one. LOL

How desperate is someone like that guy who wrote such an article in “American Thinker”, hey?

Which btw, may be forced to rethink the name of their mag. hee.

    No kidding, Newdd1.

    It’s a face-palm-palooza, spincitysd!

Just one more thing about that article. it fits in with what Joyce posted the other day about the sorry state of journalism and not only in the US of A. However, since we rank 37 in reliable information (and I’m somewhat familiar with that annual report and we have either gotten worse or have stayed pat in our ranking over the last few years), your correction, Taylor, of the gross “mistakes” or “deliberate misleading” of readers by that magazine just adds to the reason we rank so low (especially given that we used to pride ourselves about the first amendment, freedom of the press and the power of the fourth estate to protect us from the untamed power of the Executive).

And, the sad part of it all is that in many cases unless one is knowledgeable about a particular subject someone is reporting about, most would tend to buy into what seems to be the writer’s knowledge about the topic. And, if it weren’t for Mark’s knowledge and you reporting about what the truth is about a weapon being ported so that the kickback is not so violent, I know if I came across that article on my own, I would have had no clue that what this guy said wasn’t true. He seemed reasonably knowledgeable and as I have no experience with or knowledge about guns, and don’t have time to research every article I read for accuracy, well, we’re all in danger of buying into something written by the press that is either inaccurate or deliberately misleading (most especially if the topic is foreign to the reader).

And, that is now the sorry state of the fourth estate (now controlled mostly by corporations) in this country and it’s citizens who rely on the presses (or cable channels) for their information. This has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time: the broken press along with the now unbridled influence of money in politics.

Btw, you may have coined a new term: “Skeet Birther”. LOL

Actually all you really know is the Rep of The “American Thinker.” Thanks to a blog called “Sadly No” you will find out that the “American Stinker” is part of wingnut chorus singing along with the mighty right-wing Wurlitzer. Pretty much everything the stinker puts out is steaming hot offal.

Secondly anytime you see the words “Obama” and “Photoshop” in a sentence an alarm bell should go off in your head. Remember how the Certificate Of Live Birth was “Photoshopped”? The joining of “Photoshop” with “Obama” is a dead give away that you are now deep in the land of paranoid wingnuts and their bizarre fantasies. Tin foil hats are not optional in this opposite world.

Also, anytime some goober who has no expertise in Photoshop starts babbling about Photoshop your skeptical shields should be deployed and at set to full power. Since the ‘Merican Stinker is not working for Wired, nor does he have any bone fides in digital imaging, his opinion is worthless. Photoshop leaves tell-tale traces behind and a competent commentator will explain those artifacts that show the hand of the software. Such an expert can also explain the difference between Photoshop and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) artifacts which is why every expert worth their salt was adamant that the CLB was not “shopped.”

Finally you have to ask “why would the White House be so stupid as to release a ‘shopped’ image into the wild?” A truly “shopped” image would be exposed by every tech rag out there. The blow-back would be catastrophic for Obama and company. Like Obama or loath him, the man is a consummate politician and would never make such a boneheaded mistake as releasing a “shopped” image for general consumption.

Well, you have to admit this falls in line with the ditto-head conspiracy when The Rush suggested the Administration is going out its way to make the nut jobs look like . . . well, nut jobs. Throw a piece of meat out there and the shark frenzy begins.

Plouffe’s tweet– the ‘make my day’ comment–seems to fit. It’s almost too easy to entice the truly delusional anymore.

    They just can’t help themselves!

American Thinker???? Hahahaha! Too funny [if it weren't so incredibly sad]. As for the state of journalism, one need only flip on cable news to realize we’re being fed a daily dose of propaganda. Sadly, in too many quarters it’s working. I had a recent heated argument with someone in my neighborhood who’s dedicated to the bunker mentality–the savage hordes, barbarians, whatever are preparing to scale the walls and take our ‘stuff,’ and we need contingency plans in place.

I kid you not. It was a freaky confrontation.

Delusional thinking can quickly become dangerous and self-fulfilling.

I read the comment from “sasasa” on the other post, and fell off my chair laughing so hard. I’ve been around a long time and have read some really stupid things and made some myself, but that ranks up there in the top 5 of the dumbest posts I’ve read.
