Speaker, But No One’s Champion

Boehner won a bare majority in a vote that saw nine Republicans vote for other GOP members, and several others who abstained from voting or voted “present.” Two years ago, Boehner won all 241 available GOP votes. [The Hill]

NEXT FIGHT for Speaker Boehner is getting Republicans to raise the $16.4 trillion debt ceiling, educating them that paying our bills is what it’s about.

Don’t laugh too hard, but today Sean Hannity made a pitch to cut one penny from every dollar spent, but not for the Pentagon. Wingnuts still think all spending is equal.

I always thought the House of Representatives was the “people’s house.” Who is going to be the spokes person for the “people?” I haven’t seen one since I don’t know when. It’s almost as if the people don’t exist.
