News Desk: Gang-Raped Young Woman Dies in Singapore, 6 Men Charged with Murder

THE DEATH penalty has been proven it is isn’t a deterrent, but for a crime as heinous as the barbaric gang-rape of an innocent young woman, it’s fitting.

“To all of you who have expressed your anger publicly, I want to assure you that your voice has been heard. Today all Indians feel they have lost their own beloved daughter, their cherished sister, a young woman of 23 whose life was full of hope, dreams and promise..” – Sonia Gandhi [president of the ruling Congress party]

Let’s hope the president’s son Abhijit Mukherjee will keep his mouth shut and his ignorant misogyny in check now that the young woman, reportedly dubbed by the media as “Braveheart,” has died.

    Begin quote:

“Let’s hope the president’s son Abhijit Mukherjee will keep his mouth shut and his ignorant misogyny in check now that the young woman, reportedly dubbed by the media as “Braveheart,” has died.”

    End quote

Only when the men of India stand up and say enough to brutalizing “our women” will the “culture of rape” stop in India. Sadly, I don’t see that happening if Mukherjee is indicative of the way men in India think. When India starts looking at women as equals, then and only then will this kind of horrific tragedy stop.

I am heart sickened over this as I am heart sickened over what happened during the same time in CT.

I don’t know what else to say in all honesty, but I’ve been crying intermittently over the past two weeks over both these atrocities.

This boy who took the lives of those 20 children and 7 adults is not of right mind as you can see in his eyes and as you can see in the eyes of so many who do the same although not exclusively.

The NRA and it’s leader, Wayne LaPierre provided no common sense solution to gun violence in this country. All he did was to sprew the same old, same old bullshit about a person’s right to be armed. What he and others refuse to understand is that the second amendment behind which they stand does not bestow absolute gun rights just as it does not bestow absolute free speech rights. One cannot yell fire anywhere where there is no fire just as one cannot insight a riot. And, as such one cannot advocate absolute gun rights because nothing is absolute..

However, in terms of those who committed this atrocious crime against the woman in India, I have no sympathy whatsoever and I only wish the six men who brutalized her as they did will receive the harshest penalty the law allows in India.

Frankly, I hope the 6 men who brutalized this woman as they did on that bus and who threw her and her companion out of that bus will be treated without any mercy as she was not treated with any mercy.

I am not an advocate of the death penalty. However, I am an advocate of life imprisonment when it has been proven that those who have committed such an egregious crime have been proven to be guilty.

No mercy for these 6 men.
