For Our Soldiers and Their Families (War Dogs Too!), a Very Merry Christmas, with a Little Brubeck and a Side of Jimmy Fallon

Rebecca’s War Dogs

THIS ONE goes out to our soldiers, but also their amazing families who celebrate so often without their mom, dad, sister or brother at home.

Woof! for Rebecca’s war dogs, too.

The Pasta Bolognese with Pappardelle, made with spicy turkey sausage (from Whole Foods) and ground turkey instead of ground beef, with a h/t to chef Anne Burrell’s recipe morphed into my special rendition, was a huge hit with Mark and me. Marvelous.

Our kitties will get protein treats and a catnip Christmas high.

…and what would Christmas be without a little holiday cheer and laughter?

Celebrate!

Merry Christmas.

The Duck was crispy perfection…..OMGAWD what ain’t even THERE I had forgotten just how unbelievably scrumptious duck skin is!!!!! The stuffing was sublime, the taters were smashed, buttery, garlicy amazement and the small gathering was great. Only thing missing was a flickering fire in the fire place but since there isn’t a fire place…at least not until we can afford to have the 1864 era bricked in one put back into operation and my suggestion to start breaking up furniture went unheeded candles sufficed. Hope everyone had or will have as quiet(except for a little drunken giggling) and satisfying a gathering as we did last night! happy, happy, Merry, merry to all! And don’t forget to burn the Yule log!!!
