Cory Booker Won’t Challenge Christie, Looking to Senate Instead [Video]

THERE WAS no doubt that challenging Gov. Chris Christie for the governorship after his leadership on Sandy would have been a rough fight for Mayor Booker.

In fact, I doubt he would have prevailed.

A smarter move is being contemplated and it’s likely Senator Lautenberg will be encouraged to retire to make a spot for Booker.

Booker says he will consult with Democrat Frank Lautenberg, the 88-year-old senator whose term is up in 2014 and is the oldest serving senator. “It would be a privilege, an honor, to continue his legacy of service,” Booker said. [NBC New York]

“A smarter move is being contemplated and it’s likely Senator Lautenberg will be encouraged to retire to make a spot for Booker.”

Lautenberg is 88 years old! Encouraged to retire by whom? If I go beyond this point it my comment might be interpreted as crass and insensitive.

Moving on, question: who is the Democratic Party’s Chris Christie? The Democrat who will tell the party he does not give a damn what they think when there is a real emergency threatening American citizens, you know, like cutting Social Security for millions of seniors. It’s a monthly retirement check mugging of senior citizens by people who will never need to rely upon Social Security.

    Disgusting.

Oh, good, another Democratic corporate whore wants to move up in the hierarchy. He’ll fit right in in the Senate.

Methinks, Booker may come to regret not having the guts to challenge Christie. Fortunes change very quickly in politics and the bully Christie may not look as invincible in March as he did in December. Remember Geo. H W Bush the conquering hero after the first war in Iraq? Only the Gov. of Arkansas was foolhardy enough to challenge him. The rest is history.
Moreover, Booker has not payed the Lautenberg thing as well as it could/should have been.
    Look for unnecessary bad blood.
