TOP STORY – Team Obama Takes Out Right Wing Noise Machine, Rush, Sean, Laura, All Led by Karl Rove [Video]

TODAY AT noon, and then again at 3:00 p.m., after listening to right wing radio for 20 years, I get to tune in to finally hear what I wrote about in my book. The last gasp of a dying influence. It’s over, even if the medium lives on. But finally, at long last, new-media has eclipsed right wing radio as a force.

The fact free, hate filled, patriarchal hierarchy has been smashed to smithereens, with all that’s left to keeping moving FORWARD.

I use that word as a tribute to Barack Obama, David Plouffe, David Axelrod, Jim Messina and all of the Obama loyalists, Obamabots, fans, and die hard Obama partisans — not to be confused with progressive Democrats — who planned and executed the greatest political victory in United States history.

Radio will live on and so will the hate mongers, but they don’t have any power anymore. Whether Republicans can seize this day to remake themselves is another story, especially with the House still in their thrall and Senator Mitch McConnell threatened by them in Kentucky.

But that’s their problem, because the rest of this country has inched FORWARD.

The right wing noise machine was put down unmercifully on Election Day and America is a better country for it.

Spot on, Taylor. Just thought I would share this because I think it is a beauty:
    http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2012/11/07/karl_rove_on_fox_news_the_five_stages_of_conservative_grief.html

Question: Do you think the Republicans will actually try to do work for the next four years instead of just obstructing any progress, or will they will maintain status quo and focus on trying to find a reason to impeach Obama? Based on sour puss McConnell’s remarks last night, I am not very optimistic.

I mean, I think the majority of those who put in the time and energy and in some cases to vote (Lord knows the Republican Governors in the swing states did everything they could to keep people from voting) albeit not a huge majority but a majority I think have sent the message that they don’t want right wing extremists in Congress or the White House, nor do they want the likes of the Koch Bros to be able purchase an election.

    • Taylor Marsh November 7, 2012 at 1:29 pm #

There’s no evidence yet that Republicans intend to work with Obama.

    • spincitysd November 7, 2012 at 2:35 pm #

2014, Obama will be impeached right after the mid-terms give the Republicans both the House and the Senate. Obama won’t be impeached over a B.J. but the charges will be equally ridiculous. You heard it here first.

  3. fangio November 7, 2012 at 12:16 pm #

They’re still in the house, at least for the next two years. Unless Boehner grows a pair I don’t see much else changing. Those people are fanatics, they see this as a battle in a long war. They’re not just going to capitulate; that will be left to Obama. I’m sure he will not disappoint.

    • cjoblak@hotmail.com November 7, 2012 at 1:14 pm #

Inched forward to what??? more debt, less spendable income for families, more government intervention in our personal lives, another downgrade in our credit rating? Oh I forgot, we now have taxpayer funded abortions to look forward to.

And as for hatemongers, you shouldn’t lump it all in the Republican court, Taylor, there is plenty of that going around on the left also.

      • Taylor Marsh November 7, 2012 at 1:25 pm #

There is no one on the political scene in America history that has claimed over and over again that the sitting president of the United States was not only illegitimate, but not born in this country, not a Christian, though we can argue whether that matters, while being called every name in the book that no one else has ever had to endure.

I disagree with Obama on many issues and will continue to push the narrative where I can, but that’s quite different from what people in your camp have done.

I say this as an expert on American politics, as well as an expert on right wing media, well beyond radio, and as someone who knows the facts of all sides of the political aisle.

We could even have a discussion about if Obama was a Mormon what the right would have done with that, considering what they did even after Obama split with Rev. Wright.

As for “more government involvement in our personal lives,” are you f-ing kidding? Republicans have destroyed what it means to be “conservative” by involving themselves in marriage of people, telling me what I can do with my own body, as well as what I can do in my own home. So don’t you DARE lecture on that subject.

You are lying about “taxpayer funded abortions,” but that doesn’t seem to bother you, which is fine with me, because it just means you are going to continue to lose to the reality community.

As for debt, the American people have spoken and they blame BUSH first, which is exactly where anyone honest and open to the facts would go.

I love having you comment here, cjoblak, but I’m hoping conservatives with credibility and the real desire to learn and move away from where the GOP has been outnumber people like yourself soon. Our country needs them to speak up to drown out the outworn talking points you’re offering. You could learn a lot from Joe Scarborough’s performance today, but then again, you don’t want to. You want to stay among the minority. I hope you change for the sake of conservatism.

        • cjoblak@hotmail.com November 7, 2012 at 4:01 pm #

What do you mean “I’m lying about taxpayer funded abortions? Where do the funds come from then, for women who can’t afford to pay for them? From the government. How is the government funded? by taxpayers.

Sorry, don’t buy in to your war on women’s bodies either. Abortion and birth control are both alive and kicking, sick pun intended and will never go away whether we have a democrat or a republican in office.

Not lecturing you Taylor, I just know from reading liberal websites that there is plenty of hate coming from the left and it is prettty obscene. See Sarah Palin and family, Michelle Bachman and a host of others on the right.

And as for still blaming Bush, go ahead if that makes you feel better. Bush did some things I totally disagreed with, but Obama had 4 years to fix it and he didnt’. You’re right, though, he has quite the political machine. It’s amazing how they got half the country to buy in to that this economy is doing fine. And to believe the big lie regarding the Benghazi terrorist attacks, etc.etc. and all the other lies. Personally, I deserve better than this and so do all of us.

1″What do you mean “I’m lying about taxpayer funded abortions? ”

Well…because you like…ARE an stuff dimbulb!

2.”Where do the funds come from then, for women who can’t afford to pay for them? From the government. How is the government funded? by taxpayers.”

See dimbulb…that’s where the LIE thingy comes in. You just tried to do it again…JEEEZ learn from your mistak….oh yeah…it’s you isn’t it. Never mind.

3.”Sorry, don’t buy in to your war on women’s bodies either. Abortion and birth control are both alive and kicking, sick pun intended and will never go away whether we have a democrat or a republican in office.”

Proving once again the either utter stupidity of the wingnuts OR the utter dishonesty…which is it?

4.”Not lecturing you Taylor, I just know from reading liberal websites that there is plenty of hate coming from the left and it is prettty obscene. See Sarah Palin and family, Michelle Bachman and a host of others on the right.”

At this point it is more like sarcastic laughing at the crazies.

5.”And as for still blaming Bush, go ahead if that makes you feel better. Bush did some things I totally disagreed with, but Obama had 4 years to fix it and he didnt’.”

Gee, to bad that electorate thingy didn’t agree with your soft headed take on this huh?

6.” You’re right, though, he has quite the political machine. It’s amazing how they got half the country to buy in to that this economy is doing fine.”

See, there yopu go with that lying thingy….seems to be sortta a pathological thingy at this point huh?

7.” And to believe the big lie regarding the Benghazi terrorist attacks,”

Yeah, all those tapes and documents be damned!!!

8.”etc.etc. and all the other lies.”

Oretty much coveres most of your postings here don’t it?

9.” Personally, I deserve better than this”

Actually your imbecilic assmonkey ravings are treated with JUST the right degree of contempt and howling laughter they deserve I think!!

10.”and so do all of us.””

Deserve better when it comes to posts from the wingnutesphere…yeah we do….but then that nonreality based universe world view thingy kinda rules that out don’t it?

oh, by the way, Taylor, no hard feelings between us. I read your website, because, I enjoy how you write, and it’s informative and interesting. I’m glad you haven’t banned me. :) It’s one of the best I’ve been reading, even though, I don’t agree with your politics.

  4. spincitysd November 7, 2012 at 1:09 pm #

Oh, that was painful. And Karl just sticking to that talking point of “it’s too early.” Did anyone give Karl his binky when it was all said and done?

  5. Jane Austen November 7, 2012 at 2:45 pm #

I’m surprised Karl didn’t throw an aneurism. Maybe Fox et al will go the way of the dinosaurs, and our descendents will get to look at their remains in the Museum of Natural History on 81st in NYC. I only hope that they have finally lost the power they have held over the American media and the public. Fair and balanced they never were; otherwise why are they eating crow for breakfast today? :)

They’re still in the house, at least for the next two years. Unless Boehner grows a pair I don’t see much else changing. Those people are fanatics, they see this as a battle in a long war. They’re not just going to capitulate; that will be left to Obama. I’m sure he will not disappoint.

Would you “capitulate” if you were just re-elected in almost the same margin you got two years prior when that margin was an acknowledged “shellacking” of the Democrats?

I know you’re not an Obamabot, just anti-all-things-15degrees right of unadulterated liberalism. However, I will grant you your “victory lap” week just the same.

In my view, this result does not denote a major ideological shift and win of this country’s electorate except on the margins. However, make no mistake, I grant Axelrod and Plouffe absolute praise for their masterful leveraging of those margins precinct by precinct into an Electoral College scoreboard win with the same aplomb the Fischer and Spatsky showed with a chessboard.

In hindsight of yesterday, Romney choosing Stuart Stevens to go up against these guys was like scheduling Exeter Academy against Alabama.

Yes, conservatives have to solve for their social conservative anchor. No more Rick Perry immigration policy, only Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio policy. No more sending of foot-in-mouth candidates like Aiken and Mourdock out on the trail until they complete a Dale Carnegie class and get their talking points vetted by Gabriel Richard. That’s just basic political campaign skills………something Romney showed very little adeptness at either.

But no surrender from us on fiscal conservatism whatsoever………last night’s electorate was not demanding that from Republicans (assuming the top exit poll point can’t be ignored by realists).

You will gain no quarter from us despite the tactical skills of Axelrod and Plouffe. We will still be around. Here’s Obama’s two choices…………..come up with spending cuts first and then entice us politely to come to the table to talk revenue raises. His only other choice is to fund his and Harry Reid’s paycheck by continuing to use continuing resolutions on spending which accomplishes little for either you or me diameterically opposed as we are.

Enjoy the party for the next few days……….we’ll talk once reality sets in on your side.

    • ogenec November 7, 2012 at 3:59 pm #

“we’ll talk once reality sets in on your side.”

As with all things you post, don’t you have that exactly backwards? Right now, you should be off somewhere getting your head right. When we deign to (if we deign to), we’ll call you. Actually, didn’t you and PWT make a bet not to post here again if your man lost? Be a man of your word and git on gon’.

In truth, it’s not just folks on the Right that need therapy. Some on the left do too. They were praying for an outcome that never materialized. They overestimated their importance. Today of all days, we’re bandying about words like “Obamabot”? And insinuating that people who voted for Obama are not real progressives?

People mocked Donna Brazile when she said this, but she was prescient: Obama has cobbled together a new coalition. One that is younger, much more diverse, and less caught up in circa 60s catfights. If you want to continue to call them (and by implication, their candidate) names, go right ahead. But they run things right now, and you have to deal with them. Or not, at your peril.

      • casualobserver November 7, 2012 at 4:33 pm #

“Actually, didn’t you and PWT make a bet not to post here again if your man lost? Be a man of your word and git on gon’.”

I did make that bet……but directly to secularnlcw%$&^%^%#%^……..and I never saw him accept back………..if you can resurrect a contemporaneously dated archival post from him accepting that bet, I will indeed honor it.

“you have to deal with them. Or not, at your peril.”……..well, since I have chosen to ignore them for 40 years and I can’t think of anything that they have done to me, I’ll take “at your peril” for 500, Alex.

        • secularhumanizinevoluter November 7, 2012 at 6:12 pm #

“I did make that bet……but directly to secularnlcw%$&^%^%#%^……..and I never saw him accept back………..if you can resurrect a contemporaneously dated archival post from him accepting that bet, I will indeed honor it.”

Ahhhh…dimbuld…I said to both you and PWT if Obama LOST I would go bye-bye…and if MITTENS lost you assmonkies would find another part of your counter universe to screech from. I understand how that reality thingy is kinda tough to deal with…even with the gazillions of dollars you have been concentrating on accumulating…..but deal Boobala.

I hope CasualO continues posting, I think he makes some very good points.

Preferably without the obnoxious tone and the childish bets that add nothing, doesn’t work too well with us lefties and we tend not to have a short term memory.

    • secularhumanizinevoluter November 10, 2012 at 9:09 am #

I could have sworn I posted a provisional waiver on the bet if casual eats a little well cooked and seasoned crow (as did I after the previous elections results)here? And it posted…but now it’s gone? Anyway here it is again……since I personally ate the same snack after the last election I OFFER THE MENU OF REDEMPTION TO ALL WHO TOOK THE BET….publicly fess up and admit the wrongness of your position regarding the elections out come and the bet is satisfied!!

  9. casualobserver November 8, 2012 at 12:49 pm #

Thanks for the inch of compliment, Isis, but unless you get secular to state here he waives the bet, then this is my last post here.

  10. secularhumanizinevoluter November 8, 2012 at 4:37 pm #

And incidentally…. I offer the same cooked crow served on an olive branch to PWT. Heck, it won’t be nearly as much fun without them to kick around here in da marsh!!
