Estimated 8000 Protest Austerity in Dublin: ‘Come Back St. Patrick. It’s Still Full of Snakes’

The quote in the headline is from a sign held by one of the thousands who participated in an “anti-austerity” march in Dublin on Friday. Follow the link to The Journal article that provides details and some great photos.

The demonstration, organised by the Dublin Council of Trade Unions, is protesting cutbacks ahead of the Budget this 5 December.

Gardaí have estimated that about 8,000 protesters have taken to the streets so far, while other sources say up to 18,000 are demonstrating.

Do you think St. Patrick would make a call to the U.S. House, Senate and White House? Better yet, he could skip the Elected Managers and go directly to the Elite 1% for whom they work.

Joyce, I love this. We should immediately call an for emergency session of the National Council of Liberals and Progressives (if such an organization doesn’t exist we need to create it) and make this slogan our national and official cry in 2013. Come Back St. Patrick; They’ve Returned!
