Nope. This is the CNBC standard talking points garbage. The budget deadline is not a crisis it’s basically a conversation that we need to have about choices. What’s presented above is the fictional fear fantasy generated by Wall Street and the 1% to take more away from the average worker. Do not buy into this hype.

With Democratic votes, America has grown darker and darker with the escalation of drone warfare, the further erosion of privacy, basic constitutional rights, financial security and peace of mind from fraud and abuse in the marketplace, and protection from the state. Over the next four years, we are going to witness the current administration’s attack on the superstructure of FDR’s new deal, Social Security and LBJ’s greatest’s social program successes, Medicaid and Medicare.

To be fair, even if Barack Obama were not president, dismantling the social programs which are a direct transference of wealth to the less fortunate from the fortunate, would be occurring. Ending these programs under a Democratic president’s signature makes it more legitimate for historians to comtemplate the minds of the 1% and the powers that be. The empire strikes back.

Unfortunately, this is the sort of counter-factual nonsense that our financial press poops out these days. The U.S. has its own fiat currency. It can accumulate as much “debt” as it wants and still pay it off, particularly when that “debt” is actually to be taken out of a fund specifically for that purpose.

All these progressives who vote for Democrats, particularly for Barack Obama, and then wonder why poor and middle class people vote against their interests by voting for Republican candidates should look in the mirror. Then they’ll see another kind of voter who votes against his interests.

Someone should make a public service video showing the opening sequence of ” The Spy Who Loves Me. ” As Bond goes off the cliff and just as the parachute opens, the narrator intones, ” Are you prepared for the fiscal cliff. “
