IN AN interview on Tuesday, Mitt Romney began a much delayed reach out to the Hispanic community. President Obama has been leading with this community in long-term polling for months.
It came at a stop in Denver, Colorado.
“The people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place, which is a two-year visa, should expect that the visa would continue to be valid,” Romney said in the interview. “I’m not going to take something that they’ve purchased. Before those visas have expired, we will have the full immigration-reform plan that I’ve proposed.” [CNN]
Romney also pledged immigration reform, saying people should not have to hire lawyers to stay in this country.
