Doug Wilder: Obama needs a staff shakeup

Yesterday we heard from Steve Clemons.
Today Doug Wilder adds his voice, calling for a staff shake-up at the Obama WH. People want results.
Obama’s West Wing is filled with people who are in their jobs because of their Chicago connections or because they signed on with Obama early during his presidential campaign.
“One problem is that they do not have sufficient experience at governing at the executive branch level. The deeper problem is that they are not listening to the people.
Hearing is one thing; listening is another.”

Wilder is right of course. Do you think he is speaking of direct knowledge that insider Democrats like himself have been told by the Administration not to worry because people still like Obama? I mean if they are that clueless.I think those polls are unreliable. I think people are afraid of appearing racist if they say they don’t like him. They kept worrying about that during the campaign, was it the “Bradley Effect”? It turns out the polls were right before the election but I am not so sure now. Like Wilder said ,everytime they have gotten the chance voters have sent a message.
LL, I don’t know whether Wilder has direct knowledge or not, but it seems clear that changes are long overdue. He keeps doing the same things over and over expecting a different result. The very thing he accuses others of.
Not sure just how much difference these changes will make, if any, as I do believe that the buck stops with him.
I think he needs to start acting like the POTUS and tell his staff exactly what kind of an agenda he wants. Lead, lead, lead. He appears to be following them rather than them following him.

Absolutely. Thing is I doubt he has any vision. So far he is only reacting and lurching from crisis to crisis.
All the things on his plate now, are the very same things that were on his plate when he entered the WH. Nothing has moved.
