Oh, and Fox News is “most trusted.” Well, there you have it. And it’s not from Rasmussen. Via Public Policy Polling:
Americans do not trust the major tv news operations in the country- except for Fox News.
Our newest survey looking at perceptions of ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News finds Fox as the only one that more people say they trust than distrust. 49% say they trust it to 37% who do not.
CNN does next best at a 39/41 spread, followed by NBC at 35/44, CBS at 32/46, and ABC at 31/46.
Make your own deductions as to why. But at least you know why I’ve said Democrats should definitely appear on Fox. Expect a lot of Blue Dog bookings to come.
And speaking of Fox News, their reaction to the arrest of anti ACORN fanatic James O’Keefe is causing some buzz. O’Keefe has been “charged with entering federal property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony,” according to documents, which puts him inside Sen. Mary Landreiu’s office trying to allegedly bug her phones.
I’ve got one question: Whose idea was it for James O’Keefe to go down and possibly target Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, who is up for re-election? Hmmmm?
Andrew Breitbart tells Michael Calderone don’t look at me. Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin is devastated.
Flash back to Republicans trumpeting the reporting of O’Keefe in House Res. 809, whose title read: “Whereas Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe III are owed a debt of gratitude by the people of the United States.” It was introduced in October 2009 and had 31 co-sponsors.
The video above seems like an apt response to it all.

Really, I didn’t think I could get any more depressed and now we have proof positive that the american people are beyond dumb. They trust Fox. We are truly on the slippery slope in this country.It is time to start researching where to move. I wish I didn’t love my little bubble so much!

I think the Fox thing could be a reaction of people feeling that the coverage on Reid, Pelosi and Obama isn’t matching up to what people think, even when news orgs just cover the facts. People want an outlet for their rage and frustration, want it validated.
Might those numbers more likely reflect the reality that folks who watch the Big Three are more questioning in their views and the lemmings that zomboid out on faux notnews are basically nonthinking wingnuts who only believe the “right” folks?
CNN does the best, secularh, meaning people trust – distrust CNN about equally, which may be because they have fewer partisans hosting shows. As for the big 3, I believe they also skew older as well.
CNN has done a really great job in Haiti. I love the respect Anderson Cooper shows the Haitians and Gupta has certainly been going above and beyond,I have grown to respect him much more.

CNN is also doing a week long series on the stimulus package. They are checking on the accuracy of jobs created along with how the money is being spent.
So far I would say their analysis/reporting is relatively fair.
You gotta read the Times-Picayune coverage of the arrest. It is rich with connections. I am so glad that little hotdog got busted! I am also glad Landreu had sharp people working in her office! And people think Hillary is paranoid!

Hey, I have to agree with the majority. I like FOX and they have done nothing yet to diminish my trust yet. Two thumbs up for FOX! FOX is the only network that gave Hillary a fair shake. This despite the fact that they did not support her being President.
As far as Jame’s O’Keefe, I doubt that this goes beyond the stupidity of some overzealous young man. I’ve heard him interviewed by various media and it was obvious that he reveled in the spotlight after he exposed ACORN for the corrupt organization that it is. I don’t see that FOX nor Michelle Malkin nor Andrew Breitbart encouraged this action. O’Keefe exposed ACORN through ingenuity and guile but nothing illegal and he should have applied that same ingenuity to further expose ACORN’s corruption.
Well, I wouldn’t go that far, nzanh, but Fox created a lot of good will in 2008, because of their treatment of Hillary but also Howard Wolfson, someone I like and respect.

OK. Taylor I went a bit overboard in my FOX enthusiasm lol but I think they truly lived their “fair and balanced” motto especially during the primary season. *ONE* thumb up for FOX!
I didn’t even watch Fox until it was the only news outlet save maybe ABC who gave Hillary a fair shake. Maybe people don’t trust the other news outlets as much because they crowned Obama the one.
As far as Michelle Malkin and Dick Morris – say no more – they can make me hold my nose and vote for any Democrat.

Lake Lady, seriously? When the Democrat controlled US House and Senate vote to exclude an organization(one in which they had previously funded) from federal funding, it really says something.
It’s been all over the media that ACORN has been involved in voter registration fraud with at least one ACORN directors convicted and sentenced.

Fox News is number 1 for a simple reason…It tell it’s viewers what it wants to hear…Notice how angry a 24/7 Fox Viewer becomes angry when they are confronted with factual truth about a false report they heard on False…It’s frightening to watch and funny at the same time…Everything on any news channel is not 100% truthful…but, Fox News takes things to a whole new level…I would not worry to much about Fox News viewers…you can only be the number 1 news cable news station for so long…Look what happen to past number 1 news organizations… Time is Fox News Karma…Just give them a couple more years and Republican Presidents…and Fox News will be destroyed…lol

djjl…I know ACORN. It is a group that hires unemployed poor people to register voters and to work on housing for the homeless. They are for the most part very low key. I know also that the right has been after them forever because they don’t want those poor inner city people voting because damn it they seem to vote Democratic.I know that Carl Rove made it his mission to try and get some dirt on them before the ‘04 election to the point of corrupting the US Attorney system.(see TPM archives)They have had problem workers from time to time and they deal with them appropriately. Proven cases of voter fraud are very rare.
Voter fraud is a right wing troupe and an effort to disenfrancise poor people for the above reason. It is shameful that no one defended them when this whole sting thing happened and even more shameful that the Dems went along with defunding them.Just shows what weak spined,lily-livered Dems we have currently representing not us but their chosen industires in Washington.
I watched Fox some during the primary for the same reason others here did, they were more fair to Hillary. For anyone who thinks that they did not have an agenda in their apparent fairness,I have a bridge to sell you in Arizona.If you are still watching you have chosen to immerse yourself in right wing propaganda. I am not saying that cable liberals are any better at fairness in fact in many ways they are the other side of the coin,but to say that Fox is fair and balanced is to defy reality.
