I am not a big Huffington fan, Arianna Huffington comes close to nailing it today.

1 in 4 mortgages are underwater, most have no equity in their homes, unemployment grows and what do we get —- more Summers, Geithner and a jobs summit.

We should should give President Obama credit where it is due. In one year, he has transformed the Democrat Party from the party of social welfare into the party of Big Bankers and Wall Street Mavens. He promised change. This absolutely is change.

  2. kris says:

It’s kind of a paint by numbers administration iceblinkjm.

  3. djjl says:

Yes it is kris, yes it is.

  4. kris says:

Hey djjl. Morning from the west coast.

I didn’t realize Taylor was going to be at the WH today. Pretty cool.

Article 1, Section 8:5–”The Congress shall have the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof.” Section 9:7–”No money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law.” Why then is the Federal Reserve Bank (a privately owned bank) allowed to print our money and then set its value? Why is the FED (a privately owned bank) allowed to buy our debt with the money that it prints (our money) and charge us 5.8% interest for that ongoing transaction? Do “we the people” no longer abide by our own Constitution? Article 1, Section 8:11–”The Congress shall declare war.” Has the Congress ever formally declared war on Afghanistan? Or Iraq? Declaring a “War on Terror”, does not meet the Constitutional test and Obama should know that. Peace

Iceblinkjm…let’s not give all the credit to Obama. I believe that we have a big number of congressmen and Senators wo are also tools of Wall Street.

kris: “a paint by numbers administration”. Thank you for smile, in the midst of a great deal of painful happenings.

  8. kris says:

You’re welcome Joyce. It just seems to fit.

  9. djjl says:

We could all use a few smiles – thanks from me too kris. I know I’m still smiling every time I see your avatar. Don’t we all – See Dumb People.

  10. pmichael says:

Imhotep, apparently ‘Congress declaring war’ went out of style with Korea. Interesting comment on Afghanistan from U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke:
“This is the most thorough, most sustained, most thoughtful process I have ever seen,” he said. “And over the long course of it, we have all learned a great deal from each other, in a way which I think is exactly the way decisions should be made.”

It was something to hear, see Obama and Singh, who seemed to have a connection. At least that’s the clear message being sent from the White House.

    Clinton’s remarks echo it loudly.

  12. Imhotep says:

pmichael, when you step back and think about what Holbrooke had to say it explains a good deal about how the United States has arrived at the sorry state that it is in today, don’t you think? I don’t mean over the last 12 months, but over the last 40 years. Was it Ben Franklin who was asked “What sort of government have you given us?” His reply, “A republic. If you can keep it.” This ain’t much of a republic anymore. Or even a democratic republic for that matter. Peace
