On other election news, Right wing Representative Ike Skelton Democrat of Missouri and Chairman of the Armed Services Committee is a shining example of what is wrong with the Democratic Party. This neocon and warmonger (a dear friend of Hillary because they agree on almost every topic including escalating the war in Afghanistan) has been a member of the House since 1977. Alan Grayson, on the other hand, disagrees with both Skelton and Hillary that the war in Afghanistan should be expanded. Grayson has called for our troops to be withdrawn immediately. Hillary, Skelton, McChrystal, Gates and anyone else who is calling for more troops to be deployed to Afghanistan is just flat wrong. Either these Right wing folks don’t know their history or they’re delusional. Grayson, being a sane Leftist, is correct on the issue of Afghanistan. Peace
While I don’t agree at re: Afghanistan, Imhotep, we do have Alan Grayson in common, as I think his audacity is tremendous.
As for VA, t4h, it’s not a “bad blow” considering the weak-kneed Dem the party chose. Deeds never had a prayer; after all, he already lost to McDonnel once before!
As for Corzine, that’s going to be a squeaker, which Hannity is trying to change. He’s having him on in the next hour of his show.

Guess what Imhotep, Barack Obama is the Presdent not Hillary, Obama can stop the war(s) anytime he wants. Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke has more influence over policy then Hillary and Holbrooke works directly for the Obama and the White House not the State department.

Far as I care, the wacko left can have Democratic Party and Ill look for a third party. There is a reason why only 18% in this country call themselfs liberals and why people are deserting Democratic Party, now the Democratic Party identification is around 30%.

More to your first point, I ask you, if we were to pull all our troops out of Afghanistan and walk away…How long do you think it will be before Pakistan falls and the terrorists have control of the nukes? What happens then? From my point of view that,s the real question as to what we do in Afghanistan. Thanks to Bush who upset the balance of power by taking Iraq out, we are stuck in this mess.

But here’s the underlying prediction. Blue Dogs being pressured to support the House health care bill will bail causing the legislation to die or be watered down even more (if it’s even possible to be a bigger piece of shit than it is now).

Our fighting a war in Afghanistan has nothing whatsoever to do with Pakistan, its government or its nuclear weapons. It has more to do with a pipeline that Halliburton has been trying for 20 years to build from Turkmenistan across Afghanistan to the Indian Ocean.
